Linear Lighting cable systems have the low profile design and flexible track sections that allow it to be used in virtually any application. Factory attached lampholders are spaced at 4" or 6" for optimal light output. The cable may be cut to desired lengths and lampholders may be removed and replaced. The lampholders have adjustable anodized aluminum reflector to direct light output for maximum control. The system is UL and C-UL listed 12V and 24V. Wet locations 12V only.
How to design you system
There five components that are need in any system. Below we discuss each step to laying out your system and some general considerations. You application may vary as to your lighting goals.
1) Determine the length in inches of the surface you wish to light. This will be referred to as a "run".
2) Cable System: Lampholders are factory attached to cable at 4" or 6" spacing. Note: 10/2 cable (indoor use only) maximum wattage per run is limited to 300w for 12V or 500w for 24V applications. The cable has 18" leads on each end. For longer leads to remote transformers additional cable and wiring compartments may be required.
3) Lamps: Based on the socket spacing (4" or 6") and the lenght of your total run, determine the total nmber of sockects. You will need to order one lamp per socket. Warning: Serious risk of fire exists when mixing 12V lamps with 24V transformers.
4) Multiply the wats consumed per lamp by the number of lamps required for the specified run. This result will equate to the total number of watts consumed in the run which will determine the transformer wattage size required. Example: 4.2W x 48 lamps = 201.6W. Therefore select the 12V 300W transformer. Note: Electronic transformers should be operated between the specified rated wattages. Magnetic transformers should be operated between 50% and 100% of the rated wattage.
5) Stablilizer Track:Determine the number of stabilizer track sections required based on the total length of all runs and cable lenght. Stailizer track sections are sold in 4' lenghts and may be cut to desired size.
6) Select additional components such as: track clips, connectors, sleeving, ect. as required.
