Choosing a transformer
Multiply the watts consumed per lamp by the number of lamps required for the specified run. This result will equate to the total number of watts consumed in the run which will determine the transformer wattage size required. Example: 4.2Watts x 48 lamps = 201.6 total watts. Therefore select a 300 watt transformer. Note: electronic transformers should be operated between the specified rated wattages. Magnetic transformers should be operated between 50% and 100 % of the rated wattage.
