The IM-203 Nutone radio-intercom is an older unit that can be replaced with the IM-3303 system or M & S DMC3-4 which offers the opportunity of CD music and stereo speakers. Both system were a 3 wire system. This means that you will be able to use your existing wiring when installing your new system. Below is a list of the old items and the replacement procedure. The first section if for the Nutone upgrade, below will be the section for the M & S DMC3-4 upgrade.

| Both of these systems are a 3-wire system. That means that you will be able to use your existing wiring. The IM-3303 is large enough to cover the old hole, but not large enough to cover the foot print made by the IM-203. There is an update frame available(IA-119) that will cover the footprint of the old master. |
IR-10 Rough-in | IR-104 Rough-in
| The IR-104 rough-in is 1/4" longer and 3/8" narrower than the old rough-in. The little gap on top and bottom of the new rough-in will be covered by the master station. The IM-203 had one transformer. The new IM-3303 uses two transformers.IM-3303's 2 transformers is easy. |
IS-25 Inside Speaker
| IS-335 | The IS-335 is large enough to cover the hole and footprint of the old speakers. |
IR-5 Rough-in | IR-50 | To install the IR-50, you will have to open up your existing hole by approximately 1" on the sides and 1" on the top. |
IS-28 Inside Speaker
| IS-338 with IA-83 Frame | Nutone has made an update frame called the IA-83 that will screw into the old IR-8 rough-in. This then enables you to mount the IR-80 rough- in for the IS-338 into the IA-83 adapter frame. Since you will be using your old rough-in to hold the adapter frame, there is no wall work required. This makes the change out easy. |

IC-21 Control | IC-301 Control | The IC-21 was mounted in a 3 gang electrical box. It can be replaced with either an IC-301 or IC-331. The IC-301 is the easiest to install because it has a larger foot print than the IC-331. The IC-301 can be recessed using an IR-81 rough-in frame. To use the IC-331 you will need to measure your hole. The IC-331 measure 7" wide and 4" high. For outside surface mounting the IC-21 was mounted in a brown box, this can be discarded and replaced with an IC-301W or IC-331W which are also surface mounted unit |

Door Speaker | IS-70 | The IM-3303 is a hands free system. So you need to replace the front door speaker with an IS-70 . The IS-70 will fit into the old rough-in if it is a recessed door speaker. If it was surface mounted, then you need to use an IA-70 sufface mounting kit. The IA-70 only requires two wires, the old system had 3 wires. You will hook up the new speaker using the center and the silver wire and ignore the copper. |
The M & S system offers an add-on 6-disc CD player and the option of adding stereo music via the MC960A amplifier.
